As a male born in the United States, as a U.S. citizen, where capitalism was extolled, I’m having trouble with where we are today. All I know is the America I was born and reared in is not what I see, believe, and think of today. What has happened to this country? We have a president and an administration about which I have grievous doubts. Forget the elections of 2008 and 2012. They are symptomatic of this nation’s failure to adhere to the Founders’ hopes, dreams, and prayers.
What ever happened to the Constitution and the rule of law? Now, BHO simply ignores the Constitution and writes Executive Orders which circumvent the U.S. Congress with impunity. Why is this happening? Of course, there are many ramifications of this question which need very serious analysis. All I know is that as a young boy, in public school, we first prayed the Lord’s Prayer and followed it up with the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America. Now, what is a public school child told to do? Nothing? What happened to family values? Are we suppose to say they are not important or maybe even nonexistent?
Somehow, someway, we must find our way back to the fundamentals of the founding of this nation, if we are ever to fulfill the dreams and sacrifices of the Founders. If the marvelous and ingenious creation of credit unions are to be important in America and the rest of the world, we must fight for capitalism and cooperative capitalism.
My biographical information can be found simply by doing a Google search of Wendell V Fountain. The bottom line is that I love writing!
